Chair's Message

I'm proud to be your SYC Chairman for the coming year. I've enjoyed many rallies and I've seen how the Committee, Youth Committee, Marshall's and Assistants put their time and effort into running a successful Club, I'm keen to do my bit and support the centre.  

I would like to say a massive thank you and a good bye to Claire Burgess, you will be greatly missed on the SYC committee, Claire has been amazing as chair and secretary over her 10 years. Thanks again and I look forward to seeing you back on the rally field soon. 

Thank you to the members leaving our Committee, we say good bye to Claire Burgess, Gareth Pickering, Jeanette Brasher, Nadine Carter and Allyson Pearson. We welcome 3 new members and 3 returning members to our committee Wendy Frost, Sean Bennett, Sam Stewart, Christine Royston, Wayne Langford and Rod Possnett these 6 are a great addition to our committee.  We have a new Youth Committee, I would like to congratulate Joseph Possnett our new Youth Chair with his youth committee of Erin Langford, Evie Barton, Amy and Jack Stewart.  I feel confident that we can work together well for a great year! 

We have many fun rallies continuing this year including bonfire which is my first rally as chair, Mayday which marks our centres 40th birthday and will be our celebration rally. 

Thank you to Ady for his time and effort in maintaining our online booking system and rally brochure. If any members would like to be a Marshall or to assist a rally, please let him know. Your support in finding new venues, running new themes and weekends are very appreciated.  

Anyone considering rallying who are yet to take the leap, we welcome you to join SYC. Our members put lots of thought and enthusiasm into making some fantastic rallies for adults, children and families. 

And finally I would like to say a big thank you to my wife Hanna, my children George, Violet and Charlotte for their support in advance of the years events.

Hi! I’m Nell, your new chair for the SYC Youth Committee, with my fellow Committee members Josh, Erin, Evie, Charlie and Joseph.

I have been rallying my whole life with the SYC and have been in the Committee for 5 years, as well as Centre Queen in 2023 Carnivals. I would like to thank Paige, Lucinda, Abi, Joe, Tom, Sam, Erin, Grace and Neve for last years hard work and I am looking forward to creating new enriching memories for my Committee and all of the SYC. 

This years Centre Charity Duck Race rally, introduces the new innovated idea of the new youth committee which is to collaborate with the Centre Charities and  lead a fun-packed afternoon. Stalls, games and points to race for as members of all ages can come down and compete for the chance to win. We will be about on all the rallies with Bonus Ball and Tuck shop.
